i was bored one day and decided to do some depth of field tests. the shots on top were taken with an 85mm lens. the shot on the top left was taken with the lens wide open at an f/4.5 and the shot on the top right was taken with the lens closed down all the way at an f/32. the shots on the bottom were both taken with a 20mm lens. the shot on the bottom left was taken with the lens wide open at an f/2.8 and the shot on the lower right was taken with the lens closed down all the way at an f/22. Kodak Portra 800 film, converted to b&w in Photoshop to remove the strong orange cast created by using daylight film indoors without a corrective filter.
